The EGIS AVIA ATN ES Product Line has been specifically designed to be easily portable on various Operating Systems. For this purpose, it relies on a portable streams environment (PSE) which provides the suite of services known as STREAMS in the UNIX system environment, described in UNIX System V, Release 4 STREAMS Documentation.
The PSE implements both internal (Core PSE) and external (User PSE) communication means to the EGIS AVIA ATN ES stack.
The PSE interfaces also with the platform operating system (OS) through a specific interface called the System Environment Interface (SEI). It insulates the EGIS AVIA ATN ES stack from the platform Operating System.
The local manager provides an interface (LMI) which has been specified to be easily used by control management applications and administrators in accordance to an Object Oriented interface. On the basis of this interface, tools have already been developed to manage the EGIS AVIA ATN ES stack.
o The Control Application provides to the administrator a quick, unique and complete way to administrate and to monitor the EGIS AVIA ATN ES stack.
o The DataBase Reader Application is a command line interpreter that allows the administrator to configure the EGIS AVIA ATN ES stack either in an interactive or a batch way through the Local Manager Interface.
o The System Logger is an independent process which is in charge of collecting all events that the EGIS AVIA ATN ES software has generated for the attention of the administrator.
